Prof. Jamila Mustfina

Prof Jamila Mustafinа is the Head of Foreign Languages Department in Kazan Federal University. She received her PhD in 2007 and full professorship in 2012. Her scientific interests cover the trans-dicsiplinary approach towards improvement of the social spheres of human life using technology and applied computing. Jamila has published over 150 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 4 books, 8 book chapters. She has graduated 5 PhD students and is currently supervising 3 PhD students and 2 post-docs. She is also acting as a deputy editor-in-chief of the peer reviewed scientific journal “Education and Self Development”. Jamila has been awarded a number of research grants nationally and internationally.

Prof Sabeeh Lafta Farhan

Prof Sabeeh Lafta Farhan

Dr. Sabeeh Lafta Farhan is an Assistant Professor and the Vice-Chancellor for scientific affairs of Wasit University, Waist- Iraq. With more than 27 years of academic and professional experience, Dr. Farhan also serves as an academic and faculty member at the Department of Architecture, the College of Engineering at Wasit University. His postdoctoral research is from Nottingham Trent University, UK, 2018. He received his PhD (2012), and MSc (2009) in Urban planning, both from Baghdad University. His BSc in Architecture is from the University of Technology in Baghdad, Iraq, 1993.

Dr. Farhan is an academic visitor at Nottingham Trent University – Centre of Architecture, Urbanism and Global Heritage (CAUGH), School of Architecture, Design and Built Environment (2017-2018). His major research focus is on the preservation of the high-profile historical cities and sites and reviving the tangible and intangible heritage of Iraq.

Dr. Farhan also served at different leading positions such as the Municipality Manager (2002-2005), and the Governor Deputy for technical affairs (2005-2013), of Wasit Governorate – Iraq.

 Dr. Farhan is currently the Editor of urban planning at the Iraqi Journal of Architectural Engineering and Planning IQJAP.

Dr. Farhan is currently the Co-Investigator of three international research projects led by the Nottingham Trent University and Leeds University, the first is funded by AHRC: Heritage Borders of Engagement Network (ENGAGE).


 The second is funded by the British Academy: Preserving the Disappearing Cultural Heritage of Post-War Mosul, Iraq: Valuing Diversity in the Urban Recovery of Mosul’s Old Districts


 and the third one is funded by Research England: (Re)Contextualising Contested Heritage: Building Capacity & Designing Participatory Approaches to Preserve Cultural Heritage by the Youth.
